Medicare Office Near Me: Enrollment Is Done at Social Security
Medicare does not have local offices. The agency that runs it, CMS, works by phone and online, and the in-person side of Medicare, enrolling, replacing a card, fixing a premium deduction, is handled by the Social Security Administration (SSA) at its field offices. If you are looking for a Medicare office, the locator below finds the Social Security office that will help you.

Seven months around your 65th birthday: three before, the birthday month, three after. Sign up in the first three to start coverage the month you turn 65.
Special Enrollment Period
Still working at 65 with a group plan from an employer of 20+ people? You can delay Part B without penalty and enroll in the eight months after the job or the coverage ends. COBRA does not count.
General Enrollment Period
January 1 to March 31 each year for people who missed both windows. Coverage starts the following month, and a 10%-per-year Part B late penalty usually applies for life.
People already receiving Social Security or Railroad Retirement are enrolled automatically; the card arrives about three months before the 65th birthday. Everyone else must apply. Full details and the Special Enrollment forms are in the Medicare enrollment guide.
